I’m quoted giving major props to Betty Dodson in “Up Close and Extremely Personal” in an article about a new coffee table book Vulva 101, which appeared in both the Toronto Sun and the London Free Press.

There’s also been more media coverage of open relationships. I’m quoted in this BBC news article, Is it Possible to Be in a Happy Open Marriage? and I did an interview for the piece “Can Open Relationships Work?” in Canoe

“Yes, yes—oh god YES! Take Me There: Trans and Genderqueer Erotica finally satisfies a longtime craving of the genderfucked and genderfucking to accurately articulate the complexities of queer desire into raunchy written words. Edited by Tristan Taormino and flaunting big bylines like Kate Bornstein, Patrick Califia, and S. Bear Bergman, this queerotic collection refreshingly reflects that queer sex isn’t just about gender-variant pronouns or redefined dirty bits, but about what you do with them. Having read the many diversely deviant entries in Take Me There, we’d advise reading this one with one hand.—Y.T.H.

Take Me There was written up in the Pop My Cherry Review, you can check it out here.

The collection of trans and genderqueer erotica I edited has also been placed on several lists:

* About.com included it among the Top Trans Books, as well as on their list of sex books for everyday holiday giving.

* Windy City Times suggested the book in their article Books and DVDs for the Holidays.

* And Good Vibrations listed it as one of their Sexy Gifts for Sexy Book Nerds.

Thanks for helping spread the word and recommending the anthology. If you haven’t yet gotten your copy of Take Me There, take care of that today!

I recently did an interview for The ELM Avenue Show, whose mission is to present a variety of real perspectives on the adult industry from actual people who work in the industry. “We want our audience to get the real story and picture of what happens in the adult industry: the good, the bad, and everything in between,” says co-founder Benic Way. Click on my episode here and let me know what you think!

We’ve gotten a bunch of love already for my two new books!

Check out this review of The Secrets of Great G-Spot Orgasms and Female Ejaculation:

Julie calls it “highly recommended” on her blog, How to Have Sex in Texas

And look at these reviews of Take Me There: Trans and Genderqueer Erotica:

KittyStrker wrote: “…Heartwrenching, filthy, and beautiful…Considering gender diversity is pretty much invisible in the media and especially in eroticism, I was delighted to read a collection that was fluid and raw, with many authors I enjoy and respect. I really, really love this book. I love that it shows, not just diversity of gender, but of class and ethnicity, too.” Plus, she’s giving away a copy on her blog Purrversatility.

Sinclair Sexsmith reviewed it as part of Cliterotica on Lambda Literary

I got some major love from Hot Movies for Her in their latest piece, “Totally Taormino – Our Top Five Tristan Flicks!” JD writes, “If I had to choose someone that I look up to in the porn world and was only allowed to pick one – that person would be Tristan Taormino,” and she recommended her five favorite movies of mine. Thanks for the love JD and HMFH!

I was thrilled at the chance to be on The Deb Colitti Show, which airs on WOR NewsTalk Radio 710 in New York and on Hear Women Talk Radio Network. The experience exceeded my expectations. Deb and her producer are great examples of mainstream media folks who really listen. They are genuinely interested in the topic—in this case, feminist porn—and don’t let their own biases or pre-conceived ideas get in the way of a productive discussion. I had a wonderful time and I am so glad the show finally aired and is now available to listen to online. Her show regularly airs on WOR 710 on Saturdays at 6:00 pm EDT and on Here Women Talk Wednesdays at 1:00 pm EDT. You can listen to the show on Deb’s site, on WOR site, or download it from iTunes.
