Laura Antoniou is the author of the well known Marketplace series of erotic novels, but has also written dozens of short stories, essays and other works in various genres for over 25 years. Winner of the NLA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011, she has presented, taught and ranted at over 150 conferences and events since the early 80’s, delivering enlightenment, entertainment and indictments. She has also appeared at colleges and universities, including NYU, Rutgers, Columbia and the University of Washington. Over the years, her work has been translated into Spanish, German, Japanese and Hebrew; in 2010, she hit the world of e-books as the Marketplace moved to Circlet Press, and Laura came out as Christopher Morgan, best-selling writer of gay male erotica, including the novel Musclebound. Together with her wife, Karen Taylor, she has written a ritually correct leather Passover seder, titled Avadim Chayanu, available for free upon asking.  Laura is personally featured in Writing Below the Belt; Conversations with Erotic Authors, by Michael Rowe, and The Burning Pen; Sex Writers on Sex Writing, by M. Christian. The first Chris Parker story written outside of a Marketplace book was chosen to be in Take Me There, Tristan Taormino’s 2011 collection of transgender erotica. She was also a columnist for Girlfriends magazine from 1995-1997, editor of Badboy and Bi-Curious, and a regular contributor to the SandMUtopia Guardian from 1993-2000. Laura plans more novels in the Marketplace series, and a collection of fan-written stories set in that universe as well. She is also working on a mystery titled The Killer Wore Leather, due out from Cleis Books.

Patrick Califia (née Pat Califia, prior to a gender transition from female to male) has been writing about sex practically since this activity was invented. SRSLY. He is the author of a dozen or so nonfiction and fiction books that explore the issue of sexual variation, the parameters of gender, and confronting the repression and social control of pleasure. He currently lives with his cute boy (six years and counting) and three fluffy, vogueing, caption-worthy kittehs, and hopes to welcome an Empowered Femme of Color to the household once everybody has moved from California to Florida. Patrick is currently doing research on FTM sexuality and working on a sex manual to accompany publication of the questionnaire data. But if you see him at a party, please don’t ask him how the new book is coming!

Barbara Carrellas is the author of Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the Twenty-First Century and Luxurious Loving: Tantric Inspirations for Passion and Pleasure. She is the founder of Urban Tantra®, an approach to sacred sexuality that adapts and blends conscious sexuality practices from Tantra to BDSM, and the cofounder of Erotic Awakening, a pioneering series of workshops focusing on the physical, spiritual, and healing powers of sex. Barbara was named Best Tantric Sex Seminar Leader in New York City by Time Out New York for her Urban Tantra® workshops. Barbara delights in blurring the lines between sacred and profane, enlightened and perverted, mystical and scientific, pleasure and pain. Edge is an author, artist, mentor, teacher, and hard core player from Florida with 20+ years of experience in the scene. His erotic stories have appeared in print in International Leatherman and Prometheus, online at Roped Web and All American Kink, and have been anthologized in the collections Tough Guys, Roughed Up, and Rough Stuff; he’s also written columns for GMSMA’s Newslink and All American Kink. He has given presentations for GMSMA, Leatherfest, TES, TNG3, Black Rose, TES’s Queer SIG, TES Fest, Leather Retreat, Thunder in the Mountains, South Plains Leatherfest, International Ms. Leather, Beyond Leather, Lupercalia, and the Southeast Erotic Cultural Conference, but he is perhaps best known for his former website, http://lthredge.com/, a collection of links, essays, and kinky resources. He also spearheaded 100 Bloggers, an effort to get more kinky folk writing blogs. As his name and online moniker would suggest, he enjoys a wide range of edge play activities, from breath control to weaponsex to anesthesia and knockout play, though he also has a passion for stogie scenes, clean classic Japanese hemp rope bondage, and prolonged, intimate inner thigh beatings.  Edge is currently engaged to his long-time partner, who lives in Boston, and hopes to tie a different kind of knot with him and then move him down to FL as soon as possible thereafter.

FifthAngel (fifthangel@artofbdsm.com) has spent many of his nonworking weekends traveling throughout North America teaching at BDSM events for the last 11 years. He has written two books, The Finer Points of Pain and Pleasure, a how-to guide for using pressure points in BDSM scenes, and Your Pain, My Pleasure: Inside the Mind of a Sexual Sadist, as well as many magazine articles and interviews. FifthAngel and his wife, Katie, live a power-balanced, monogamous marriage that is very much SM oriented. Edge players in all aspects of their lives, they enjoy vertical rock and ice climbing, blasting zombies at the gun range, and whitewater rafting. When not dangling by a rope off the side of a mountain, they are at home on their five-acre farm on the outskirts of Denver, where they care for a growing family of animals.

Since the mid-70’s Hardy Haberman has been an active in the leather community and a member of many BDSM/Fetish organizations including Dallas Motorcycle Club, Leather Rose Society, NLA-Dallas, Discipline Corps and a founding member of Inquisition-Dallas. Considering himself a “Pain Technologist” he specializes in CBT and has an unusual fondness for clips clamps and clothespins, as well as more esoteric SM play. Professionally he is a marketing specialist and filmmaker. His documentary on the leather lifestyle, LEATHER, has won numerous awards and appeared in festivals around the world, and his latest film, Out of the Darkness, The Reality of SM is currently being used by health care professionals around the world.  Outside work, he is a gay activist, author & speaker on aspects of the SM/Leather scene. His books The Family Jewels, A Guide to Male Genital Play and Torment published by Greenery Press and More Family Jewels, Playing With Pain, and Soul of a Second Skin published by Nazca Plains Publishing are available at bookstores everywhere. He was awarded NLAI’s Man of the Year award in 1999 and the NLA-I Lifetime Achievement award in 2007, and also received the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force Leather Leadership award.  He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance. Since April, 1995, he and his boy Patrick have been living together in Dallas with their Feline Mistress Elvira and troublemaker Jack-The-Cat.

Lee Harrington is a passionate spiritual and erotic educator, gender explorer, eclectic artist, and published author and editor on human sexuality and spiritual experience. He’s been traveling the globe (from Seattle to Sydney, Berlin to Boston), teaching or talking about sexuality, psychology, kink, faith, magic, and desire since 1995, and has no intention of stopping anytime soon. Midori is a renowned educator and writer on sexuality and SM. Dubbed “the supernova of kink” by Dan Savage, she emerged from the Sex Positive Movement in San Francisco in the early 1990s, soon becoming a much sought after international presenter on sexuality, personal fulfillment, and kinky adventures. Considered a pivotal figure in the leather and BDSM communities, she is also a critic, activist, and agent provocateur. Her reputation as an authority and leading expert on alternative pleasures stems not only from her unique and entertaining process of teaching concrete skills, but from her ability to deconstruct and distill complex matters of desire into surprisingly accessible lessons with eloquence and humanity. She is known for tackling challenging topics with fresh and relevant insights, using what she calls her “head–heart–hands” method for creating a space where people are allowed individual self-exploration. Midori is fundamentally motivated by a desire to help people create authentic and intimate relationships while emphasizing self-actualization, shame reduction, acceptance, and justice. For more than seventeen years Jack Rinella wrote LeatherViews, a weekly column about his favorite topic: kinky sex. He is a freelance writer, college instructor, and the acclaimed author of eight books, including the best-seller, The Master’s Manual. A sought-after lecturer, Jack has presented seminars on BDSM history, techniques, and relationships across the country including the Leather Leadership Conference, Black Rose, Bash at the Beach, Beat Me in St. Louis, TES, Headspace in Bloomington, IN, Kinky Kollege, and the Arizona Power Exchange.  Born in Albany, New York of Italian-American parents, he’s been a high school and college teacher, a drug rehabilitation counselor, a cook, a computer salesman, a Catholic seminarian, a Pentecostal minister, an advertising copy writer, a graphic designer, and has done stints at printing, publishing, telemarketing, head-hunting, and computer consulting. He has a Bachelor degree in Philosophy and a Master Degree in Business Administration.  He has been active in the Leather scene since 1983, is a founding member of MAsT-Chicago, an associate member of the Chicago Hellfire Club, and serves as a director on the board of the Leather Leadership Conference. He has written extensively about our lifestyle as a weekly columnist for Gay Chicago Magazine. His writing has also appeared in Drummer, The (San Francisco) Sentinel, and Philadelphia Gay News. He lives on the North side of Chicago with his partner of sixteen years, Patrick, where he passes the time writing, cruising, and falling in love whenever he can.

Ignacio Rivera aka Papí Coxxx identifies as a Queer, two-spirit, polyamorous, kinky, Black-Boricua. Ignacio is a descendant of colonized and uprooted Taíno and African slaves. Ignacio’s people are from Borikén, also known as Puerto Rico.  Ignacio, who prefers the gender-neutral pronoun “they,” is a lecturer, activist, sex worker, sex educator, wanna-be-filmmaker and performance artist, sharing spoken word, one-person shows, and storytelling internationally. Ignacio’s body of work has focused on gender and sexuality; specifically on queer, trans, kink and sexual liberation issues within a race/class dynamic. Their written work has appeared in ColorLines, Ebony, Yellow Medicine Review and in their chapbooks, Las Alas (co-authored by Maceo Cabrera Estévez); Ingridients; and Thoughts, Rants and What Some Might Call Poetry. Ignacio is the recipient of a Marsha A. Gómez Cultural Heritage Award from LLEGÓ: The National Latina/o Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Organization.  As a lecturer/trainer, Ignacio has spoken at home and abroad on such topics of racism, sexism, homo/transphobia, transgender issues, sexual liberation, anti-oppression, anti-violence, multi-issue organizing and more. Ignacio is a consultant for various organizations in New York City, conducting professional development trainings for NYC high school staff.  As a wanna-be-filmmaker Ignacio has produced a short called Crossing which has played in film festivals internationally. Crossing is an experimental adult short about crossing the realm of normality and kink. It is a narrative short that explores opinions on negotiation, communication and kink. Their second experimental film called They is a short about Ignacio Rivera’s gender fluidity and debuted at the NYC Mix film Festival in October 2008.  Ignacio has just completed working on their third short entitled Transient. A video-diary-style experimental film about the consciousness of identity within travel, Transient touches on issues of ego-centrism, tolerance, and gender attribution. As a sex worker Ignacio has worked as a dancer, a pro-dom and is currently working in the adult film industry.  They can be seen in Pink and White Productions, In Search of The Wild Kingdom and Morty Demand’s Trans Entity: The Nasty Love of Papí and Wil and their latest film, Mommy is Coming, released in February 2012 at the Berlinale Film Festival. It is an “adult” comedy directed by Cheryl Dunye.  They are also the founder of Poly Patao Productions (P3), which is dedicated to producing sex-positive workshops, performances, educational opportunities and events that are specially geared toward queer women, transgender, multi-gender, gender queer, gender-non-conforming and gender variant folx of color.  Ignacio has been facilitating workshops, doing lectures, and creating events for kinky, kinky-curious Queer/Trans POC’s and their white queer and trans allies for over a decade. Lastly, Ignacio is also one of the founding board member of Queers for Economic Justice; a progressive non-profit organization committed to promoting economic justice in a context of sexual and gender liberation.

Felice Shays thrives where respect, sex, roughhousing, laughing, safety, love, and talking shit all intersect. She’s a sex and BDSM educator and coach who travels throughout the U.S. and Canada teaching at events, sex positive stores, universities, conferences, and to community organizations; her hands-on work with individuals, couples, and other partnership configurations ignites some mighty, sexy self discovery. Sarah Sloane is a sexuality & relationship educator who currently resides in Chicago, IL. She has taught literally hundreds of classes for sex-positive, BDSM, and relationship-oriented organizations and events throughout the US, Canada, and overseas for over 10 years; she also works with individuals & small groups to learn skills and techniques to enhance their lives. Additionally, she is a popular guest on numerous podcasts and internet radio shows, and delights in speaking her mind and creating dialogue with listeners across the globe. Sarah has written extensively online and has been included in Lee Harrington’s book, Rope, Bondage and Power.  She has been honored as a nominee for the Pantheon of Leather’s Woman of the Year award for 2009, is the 1st Runner Up for International Ms Leather 2009, and is a past nominee for the Vaughan Keith National Educator award from Black Rose.

Tristan Taormino is an award-winning author, columnist, editor, sex educator, and feminist pornographer. She is the author of seven books: Secrets of Great G-Spot Orgasms and Female Ejaculation, The Big Book of Sex Toys, The Anal Sex Position Guide, Opening Up: A Guide to Creating and Sustaining Open Relationships, The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women, True Lust: Adventures in Sex, Porn and Perversion, and Down and Dirty Sex Secrets. Mollena (Mo) Williams, “Delicate, Trembling Flower of Submission”©, is a New York City born and raised writer, leatherwoman, actress, BDSM educator, fat fetish model, and executive pervert. In the kink and leather communities, she identifies as a power slave who submits to only one. She is extremely honored to have served as International Ms. Leather 2010 and Ms. San Francisco Leather 2009. Lolita Wolf is a native New Yorker who discovered the BDSM scene back in the late 80s when “online” meant being on the phone sex lines. She is an activist who defends the sexual freedom of all consenting adults, spreads the word about BDSM, sex, and poly, and helps the community grow and flourish. Yet her goal remains to have fun. Lolita’s many specialties include bondage, sensation and impact play of all sorts, poly relationships, and social skills. She has taught for organizations across the country, including TES, GMSMA, Black Rose, Living in Leather, South Plains Leatherfest, Thunder in the Mountains, Portland Kinkfest, Frolicon, Dark Odyssey, and many others, and she has presented seminars at Columbia, Yale, NYU, The New School, Bard, and Rutgers. A six-year-old Princess who lies about her age, Lolita manages to stir up shit and get her own way (mostly). Madison Young is an international award-winning feminist porn star, director, gallerist, artist, and new mom. She has been called a “sex-positive Tasmanian devil.” She has been directing and performing in erotic films for nearly a decade and has won great acclaim for her video line, Madison Young Productions, and her network of erotic websites, the Feminist Porn Network. Her films have screened at film festivals through out the States, Europe, and Australia. Young values sexual education in her work and has taught workshops and lectures and served as a panelist on the topics of sexuality, feminist pornography, and kink across the U.S., including at Yale University and UC Berkeley. She has recently finished a memoir, Breathe: The Sexual Evolution of Madison Young, based on her experiences in the adult industry, due out in spring 2012. Madison has contributed writing to Baby Remember My Name, edited by Michelle Tea, Rope Bondage and Power Exchange, edited by Lee Harrington, and In-Soumises, edited by Wendy Delorme. Meet the Illustrator!

Katie Diamond is a radical queer comic artist and graphic designer. She graduated from the Maine College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, where she got the nickname “Megaphone” because of her extensive community activism. She strongly believes in the direct crossover of art and politics, and uses this dogma in her everyday art practice. She has created many illustrations and cartoons about gender, sexuality, and sex education, and has designed a multitude of promotional materials for various local organizations. She is the publisher and editor of the queer feminist sex magazine Salacious, and her comic collaboration with queer performer Johnny Blazes is featured in the Lambda Literary Award–winning anthology Gender Outlaws: The Next Generation. She was named International Ms. Bootblack in April 2011.
